Masters Practice Types

We offer multiple types of practices to meet the different needs of our rowers.

We are primarily a sculling club, rowing quads, doubles, and singles - occasionally we put out sweep pairs or eights. The weather in Victoria allows our Masters program to row year-round. All of our rows are coached practices. Depending on the season, the current schedule may include:

Refining Row

Suitable for new Learn to Row graduates and experienced scullers. The focus is on refining and building your skills. Typically several mornings per week, as popularity supports.

Regular Row

Defined workouts aimed at fitness, technique and, as appropriate, sprint and head race preparation. Typically several time slots every weekday morning, and Saturdays, year round.

Evening Row

An informal row that takes advantage of summer evenings on the Gorge. Typically several times per week, during summer only.

We offer several different Masters Program Price Plans, with different levels of cost and commitment. All price plans provide access to all of the different practice types.

If you aren’t sure which sessions or price plans are right for you, please contact info@gorgerowing.ca to discuss your situation and determine the best path to getting on the water with us.

If you haven't rowed with us before, see our New to Our Club page.

Whether you're new to our program or not, if you are not currently confident in a racing single, and you'd like to be, check out our Private Lessons - Confidence in a Single program.
