David Wakulich

Coach David grew up in St Catherines Ontario. where he was primarily a sculler, earning individual Under-23 titles at Canadian Nationals while still in high school. He attended Harvard University, majoring in Archaeology, which encouraged his patience, attention to detail, and love of fieldwork. He also made the switch to sweep rowing, earning a spot on the Harvard Crimson first varsity men's 8, and contributing to a series of strong seasons for the team. Post graduation, David was invited to join Team Canada, competing in both sculling and sweep events at the Pan Am Games in Mexico and Sr World Championships in South Korea. After retiring from Team Canada due to health issues, David continued to add to his collection of Canadian Henley golds, and came second in the 2020 Canada's Safest Driver contest. We greatly appreciate David sharing his technical knowledge and patience with all levels of rowers at our club.
