Our People
Gorge Narrows Rowing Club can only happen because of its people. The members, volunteers, and paid staff that run our programs, provide coaching, keep the boats ship shape, and create the fun and welcoming environment that we love.
We are a not for profit organization incorporated in British Columbia under the BC Societies act. Our volunteer board work hard to keep the club running!
We also have a club manager, Rachel Davis, who coordinates the coaches, works on new programming, and plans events.

Rachel joined Gorge Narrows Rowing Club in Spring of 2021, A 1996 graduate of Ottawa's Carleton University, where she developed her love for rowing, Rachel is an experienced rowing coach, physical education teacher, and sports administrator with a uniquely varied background. After FISA World Rowing sent her to Zimbabwe on a one year assignment to develop the sport of rowing in Africa, Rachel ended up spending over two decades in Africa, educating and coaching athletes from Novice to Olympic qualifying level, accompanying her athletes to the Olympic games in London and Rio, and developing safety protocols for rowing in crocodile and hippo infested waters.
Rachel is passionate about strategy and program design, and, most of all, mentoring and empowering athletes and coaches.
