How To Get Here
The Gorge Narrows Rowing Club rows on the Gorge Waterway in Victoria, British Columbia. We're located just south of the Selkirk Trestle Bridge, only a couple of minutes from downtown, and right next to Galloping Goose Regional Trail. It's easy to get here by foot, bicycle, car, or transit.
So many ways to get to GNRC!
Here are some of the ways you can get here.
On The Sidewalk

It's entirely practical to walk to the club. Here's an isochrone map showing where you can walk in twenty minutes from the club!
For those who live on the west side of the Gorge, the walk across the Selkirk Trestle is lovely, especially early in the morning!

Using Safe Bike & Roll Routes

Victoria has an extensive network of safe bike routes, and we are fortunate to be on two of them, and also to have a good amount of nearby bike parking. Using the cycling network to get here is easy and a great way to warm up or cool down after rowing.
Using Transit

There are bus stops on Gorge Road East just west of Jutland Road that serve the 8, 9, and 11 routes (the 11 is by far the most frequent). There are a number of other stops within a modest walk of the club as well.
In general, it's practical to get to the 7:00 a.m. and later practices via the 11 with only a short walk from Gorge Road to the club. Other times are possible as well, but the walk to the bus stop is about 15 minutes—perfect for a warm-up or cool-down!

Driving

Many people choose to drive to the club—the only issue is where to park!
Most of the free parking is time limited. All the neighbourhood streets in Selkirk Village have free on-street parking. As of October 2025, Jutland Road by the club has a one hour limit from 9 a.m.–6 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Many of the surrounding streets allow parking for two hours. The signage is very clear, and the limits are enforced, but only during the posted hours. For example, if you park in a 9 a.m.–6 p.m. zone at 5:00 p.m., you can stay as late as you want.
If you need to stay longer than the free parking limit, there are a number of hourly metered parking areas (marked in red on the map) tucked in along Jutland Road.
Parking can be tight, so carpooling is encouraged, but certainly not required.

Water Taxi

OK, it rarely makes sense, but the Selkirk Landing Victoria Harbour Ferry stop is right next to the club!
