We come for a wide variety of reasons, including fun, fitness, and socializing. Some of us are highly experienced rowers, and some of us are brand new to the sport.

There are year-round opportunities for Adult rowers, both in specific short programs, and in our "Masters" program.
We offer a wide array of sessions. You choose what meets your schedule & goals, whether that's gentle rowing once a week, intensive training every day, or something in between.
Age: 18+
Experience: Learn to Row or greater experience required.
Masters Punchcard - Use anytime to drop-in to practices.
10 practices. $300+GST
Masters Monthly - Unlimited rowing during the month you purchase.
Unlimited practices. $184-$247+GST per month, depending on the season.
Annual - $2,205+GST—unlimited rowing all year.
Seasonal - $1,710+GST—unlimited rowing 2026 April–October + 2027 March.

Get out on the water in the mornings and build a solid foundation that will last a lifetime. Rowing is a great sport for people of all ages! Rowing offers a full body workout and can improve vascular health, strengthen muscles, enhance joint flexibility, and promote mental well being.
Age 55+
Experience: None required. This program is suitable for people at any fitness level, and with all mobility and balance abilities.
2 times/week. Wed & Fri 9–11 a.m.

Casual rowing, meeting new people, and having fun on the beautiful Gorge waterway.

Get a head start on Spring programs and welcome back the evening sun with this opportunity for technique foundation and refresh.
Age: 16+
Experience: Some rowing experience (LTR, GiftGlide, Romantic, etc.)
2 times/week. Mon & Wed 6–8 p.m.
March 9–25
$160 + GST
This program is specifically for recent newcomers to Canada and refugees.
Age 16+
Experience: All levels, including no experience
Sundays, 12–2pm., flexible drop-in attendance

This "WOW Generations" program is a rowing introduction for teen girls & adult women, in a supportive, women-only environment.
Age: 14+
Experience: None necessary. Teen & adult participants can be new or returning rowers.
Saturdays, 11 a.m.–1 p.m.

Private lessons are available, as time permits, to address specific goals.
Private lessons can be a useful addition to our group classes so, when coach time is available, we offer them as an option. A private lesson offers dedicated coaching for one boat (single through eight). Some of the goals that people have worked on in private lessons include:

Experienced rowers from other clubs are welcome as occasional Guest rowers at GNRC, whether they are invited by an existing member or contact the club directly. See our Guest Rower Policy for information about waivers, suggested donations, rules, etc.

Small group coaching focused on skills and techniques for handling a single shell with confidence and grace, on and off the water. Limited to 8 participants planning to attend every practice.
Age 18+
Experience: At least a Learn To Row graduate, but no specific single experience required. Also suitable for experienced single rowers wanting to focus on technique and drills.
Typically 3 evenings in the same week. Multiple blocks during July & August
